Garfield Gets Real
Clay Cane READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Garfield Gets Real is definitely a video game for children; however, even kids will have a tough time with this poorly executed reincarnation of the Garfield franchise.
In the game you are the director and creating a DVD that captures a day in the life of Garfield. The player films eating, dancing, sleeping and other random shenanigans. As the player, you endure various scenarios that all seem alike. In the first stage, you are thrown food and plates and have to catch them. How uninventive is that? Within about five minutes I felt like I was playing a vintage Atari game.
The game goes on, incredibly drab and while you get to reminisce with characters like the Odie there is nothing new or fresh added. What is most frustrating is that while the game is ridiculously simple, it's also tough to control. There is no fluidity to the movements, you often get stuck in one space, can barely navigate, which constantly takes you away from enjoying the game. Everything about this video game is bad.
The game is a teaser to an upcoming movie. If the movie is anything like the game, I recommend everyone stay far away from this fat cat!
