Watch: Get Ready to Return to 'The Gilded Age' with New Teaser

"Downton Abbey" creator Julian Fellowes continues his American-set series "The Gilded Age" for a second season, slated to premiere on HBO on Oct. 29, Variety reported.
The new season will comprise eight episodes and continue to feature series favorite Carrie Coon as Bertha Russell, the socially ambitious wife of a nouveau-riche railroad baron.
In the sophomore season, according to the show's official synopsis, "Bertha challenges Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy) and the old system and works to not only gain a foothold in Society, but to potentially take a leading role in it."
Meanwhile, "George Russell (Morgan Spector) takes on his own battle with a growing union at his steel plant in Pittsburgh."
Across the street – but miles away in terms of social status – "In the Brook House, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) continues her journey to find her way in the world secretly teaching at a girls school while much to everyone's surprise Ada (Cynthia Nixon) begins a new courtship. Of course, Agnes (Christine Baranski) approves of none of it."
Also: "In Brooklyn, the Scott family begins to heal from a shocking discovery, and Peggy (Denée Benton) taps into her activist spirit through her work with T. Thomas Fortune (Sullivan Jones) at the NY Globe."
As with its British counterpart, "The Gilded Age" parallels the drama of its high-living wealthy characters with the travails, rivalries, and romances of the "downstairs" staff who keep their lavish homes and elegant lifestyles running. Watch the new teaser below.
