New 'Euphoria' Season Not Coming Until 2025

Looks like "Euphoria" fans will have to wait just a little longer for the show to return. Between the WGA strike delaying Hollywood's production and creator Same Levinson's "The Idol" show duties, an HBO executive says "Euphoria" likely won't be back on the silver screen until 2025.

As reported by Deadline, HBO drama chief Francesca Orsi said that productions have been repeatedly halted for the show. The show was reportedly suppose to resume filming this summer.

"'Euphoria' is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on 'Idol' but at this point, we don't have countless scripts," Orsi said. "We can't start shooting, so the delivery of that show – ideally in 2025 – will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on 'Idol.'"

HBO has either paused production or shutdown entirely in solidarity with the WGA strike. The strike is into its third week after beginning May 2.

In a Vogue interview, costume designer Heidi Bivens spilled that the show might feature a time jump.

"There is talk of it being approximately five years in the future, and that they're not in high school anymore. Dorothy's not in Kansas anymore," she said.

"Euphoria" season 2 concluded February 2022, but something tells us fans will be right there waiting when the show finally comes back.
