READ TIME: 2 MIN.
On Saturday, September 23, comedians and real-life married couple Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher will perform at the Regency Ballroom as part of their multi-city "Back To Back" stand-up tour.
Fans recognize Esposito and Butcher from their hit TV comedy series "Take My Wife," which was critically hailed by The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Vulture, and IndieWire. They are notably the first gay, married couple to co-create, co-star and co-show run a TV show.
Both Esposito and Butcher were also named in Variety's prestigious "Comics To Watch" list, and released stand-up albums on venerable Portland label Kill Rock Stars and both saw their records go to #1 on iTunes Comedy. Esposito and Butcher's Back To Back Tour will offer fans around the country the chance to hear both comedians' edgy and human take on love, identity and pop culture when they take the stage individually and together each night of the tour and performing all new material.
Offstage, fans recognize Esposito from movie roles including "Mother's Day," "First Girl I Loved," "Operator," "Sleight"; and on TV on "Maron," "AdventureTime," "We Bare Bears," and "Late Night with James Corden." Butcher has made appearances on "Conan," "Comedy Central's @Midnight," "The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail" and "Adam Ruins Everything."
At home in L.A., Esposito and Butcher co-host the weekly comedy show and podcast Put Your Hands Together at the famed Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Esposito and Butcher also entertain over 150k combined Twitter followers daily.
"The energy and chemistry the pair share is so dynamic, and the way they play off of each other feels very organic when watching them on stage. The flow of their set felt natural as if we were witnessing a casual conversation between the two, peppered with hilarity," wrote the Austin Chronicle in their SXSW Live Review.
Esposito has a new podcast called "Queery" which is a 60-minute interview show with queer luminaries like "Transparent" creator Jill Soloway, actor Evan Rachel Wood, musicians Tegan and Sara and community activist Madin Lopez. Butcher was interviewed for episode 1. The recently launched podcast was featured on iTunes New & Noteworthy and garnered a huge listener response in its first weeks. http://www.feralaudio.com/show/queery/
