One of the most talked about fall network shows this year is Shonda Rhimes' ABC drama "How to Get Away with Murder." Not only does it star the fabulous Viola Davis but it will also have lots of hot and steamy gay sex, according to E! Online.

"HTGAWM" premiered Thursday night at 10 p.m. on NBC but, at least for a network show, there was enough action that may have you wondering if its show runners will soon change the name to "How to Get Away with Sex Scenes on Network TV."

As Jezebel notes, having graphic sex scenes, especially between two men, "is not commonplace on network television." Jezebel also reports there was "both cunnilingus and gay sex in the premier of the show, which might be a new network television record."

The show's creator, Peter Nowalk, who worked with Rhimes on breakout shows like "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal," told E!:

"We never got any pushback about [the sex scenes] from the network."

E! reports fans can expect a lot more man-on-man action throughout "HTGAWM" because "It's part of life," Nowalk said.

"I knew I wanted to push the envelope, especially with the gay sex," Nowalk told E!. "And to me, writing the gay characterization and writing some real gay sex into a network show is to right the wrong of all of the straight sex that you see on TV.

"Because I didn't see that growing up, and I feel like the more people get used to two men kissing, the less weird it will be for people," he continued. "I just feel like it's a lack of vision that you don't see it on TV, but ABC has never had a note about any of the weird stuff in the show, so I'm gonna keep it going."

Nowalk also said that the show's gay character, Connor (Jack Falahee), will have a romance in the first season, which starts in the second episode.

"It was in important to show a gay person as a full-fledged character," he added.
