The Future Feminists Collective will kick off their exhibition "13 Tenets of FUTURE FEMINISM" with a special benefit on Sept. 7 at New York City's Webster Hall. The benefit will feature folk duo CocoRosie and Antony of Antony and the Johnsons. It will be followed by 13 nights of lectures, conference and performances, Sept. 11-27 at The Hole NYC.

"Tenet 1: The subjugation of women and the earth is one in the same," reads the description on the gallery website. "'FUTURE FEMINISM' is a call to arms to reorganize ourselves as a species and affirm archetypally feminine values."

The benefit on September 7 at Webster Hall will star famed eccentric folk duo CocoRosie, singer Antony, legendary artist Kembra Pfahler and The Girls Of Karen Black. Johanna Constantine will spin aural disco doom on the turn tables for this special benefit concert in support of the Future Feminism exhibition, performance series and future activities.

Comprised of Sierra and Bianca Casady, CocoRosie they recently premiered their collaboration of Bob Wilson's "Peter Pan" in Paris and Berlin and completed a world tour in support their album, "Tales of a Grasswidow."

Antony is a singer and visual artist. Antony and the Johnsons just returned from Madrid performing four nights at Teatro Real with Orquesta Titular del Teatro Real presenting the final incarnation of "Swanlights," originally commissioned by MoMA and performed at Radio City Music Hall in Jan of 2012. As a visual artist, he is represented by Sikema Jenkins Gallery in NYC where he is currently in a group show entitled "Works on Paper" (Sep. 2-Oct. 4).

She founded "The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black" and is currently working on a performance technique with students called "Performance Art 101." Her last show at The Hole was "Giverny" with E.V.Day, where she turned he gallery into a replica of Claude Monet's garden in Giverny, France.

Johanna Constantine is a dance based performance artist who recently danced at The Tate Modern in London in an exhibition by Charles Atlas.

These five artists have developed a series of vivid tenets for FUTURE FEMINISM during three years of intensive retreats. Collectively, they represent a frontier feminist point of view.

Following this launch, from Sept. 11-27, The Hole is proud to present FUTURE FEMINISM, the exhibition collectively realized by Antony, Kembra Pfahler, Johanna Constantine, Bianca Casady and Sierra Casady. FUTURE FEMINISM is the culmination of three years of intensive retreats, which resulted in the realization of 13 tenets representing a frontier feminist perspective. These axioms will be presented in a group authored sculptural work.

The artists have also curated and are participating in 13 nights of lectures and performances that will include Lydia Lunch, Laurie Anderson, Julianna Huxtable and Carolee Schneemann, among many others.
